Thanks to the efforts and care of Grigory Mikhailovich, the oil industry in the city erected a sick leave, built a children's clinic and maternity hospital.

Under his direct leadership, the second music school was built, later the Children's School of Arts. And this is only part of the great builder done and donated to Surgut. Year after year, step by step. And finally, everything turned out: they chose a place, work began. And every week we came to meetings. They looked, discussed what and how it would look in the new building. Grigory Mikhailovich Kukuevitsky delved into every detail.

At the same time, a business center was built with him. Grigory Mikhailovich once said: “If you knew how many complaints I had for the fact that I was building such a costly building! Here's another example. Schools were then built very ascetic. Well, what could be there? Painted walls, doors from chipboard ... And this was the norm, because the country was not up to luxury. And, of course, the project of our school was the same. But Grigory Mikhailovich looked at this and asked the builders at the meeting: “Are you building a bathhouse?!

You are building a temple of art! So let's build a temple! In a word, the school was really built as a temple of art! The oil workers built very quickly, in just a year everything was ready. Grigory Mikhailovich was a warm man, he not only knew his business, but also treated him creatively, consciously, with all his soul. The unfinished flight is Marianna Stepanovna, and why is your school named Kukuevitsky, because there were other significant objects built under his leadership?

And before this event, Grigory Mikhailovich flew to the Crimea for a week to rest. And that's it. From there he no longer returned. Grigory Mikhailovich passed away very early - in August, at the age of 59. Everyone was saddened, they began to remember. But all cultural institutions in Surgut built Surgutneftegaz under the leadership of Grigory Kukuevitsky. He died “on the fly” - full of strength, energy and desire to work.

Musicians have such a thing as a swan song. This is when the composer writes his last work. And we decided that our school should have his name, since it is his swan song. We turned to the oil industry, to the city administration, everyone responded and together decided that this person deserved to remain in the history of Surgut. By the way, on the school’s website, I found a statement about Kukuyevitsky one of his students and followers-the ex-head of Surgut Alexander Sidorov.
