A wonderful musician, composer Vitaliy Semenovich Khodosh, who left the "Sonatu-Poem" for the button accordion for Bayan, passed away. During the period of work on the “Sonata Poema”, “sentimental suite” for violin and piano, “Youth Symphony” for the orchestra, chamber cantata for the poems by N., the author of these lines, which initiated the compliance with the sonata, and later its editor and first performer, are also remembered by the first impressions of this music, were also created. Bright thematic material set forth in modern language, dynamically and temperament, abounded here with various kinds of contrasts, contrasts of images, changes in metro -rhythmic pulsation, phony effects, textured ingenuity.

The purposeful episodes of the Tokkata plan alternated in a cycle with lyrical revelations, a psychologically expressive transmission of the movements of the human soul.

At that time, episodes are impressed, throughout which depicting, as it were, departure from reality, immersion in fantastic worlds, transferred with the help of originally used sound impositions. Vitaly Semenovich, having the initial skills of playing the button accordion, skillfully used his various capabilities, quite accurately recorded his plan with textured means. The contractor could only prepare his own edition of the work in accordance with the diverse potential of a modern tool.

Some interesting tricks of the presentation by us in the process of finishing the chromatic Glissando sonata cluster in the right hand, combined with the consistent "layering" of the same sounds in the left; combination of Diminundo, performed by the left hand due to the gradual release of keys in the conditions of polyphonic fabric, with simultaneous CressCendo in the right hand; The gradual "dissolution" of the cluster consonance in one of the parties with the "picking up" of the same consonance and the subsequent increase in the other, etc.

However, at the final stage, when it seemed that the most difficult thing in work was already behind, for some reason the creative process was stalled. With his characteristic criticality, Vitaly Semenovich discovered here and there are some drawbacks. I had to go on a trick, announcing that the period of that solo concert was approaching, the program of which has already been included in the sonata.

Apparently this message contributed to the quick completion of the cycle. Its first execution took place during one of the meetings of the Rostov Regional Organization of the Union of Composers, and then, taking into account the opinions and estimates, the Sonata-Poema was slightly corrected and shown at the Don Musical Spring festival of the year. Subsequently, Sonata-Poema could be heard repeatedly at various kinds of competitions, including all-Russian and international ones.

She gained popularity as a pedagogical repertoire of music schools and universities in the country. Nevertheless, the author was in no hurry with the publication, continuing to "polish" his composition. The final version in three parts was published by the Publishing House of the Rostov Conservatory only in the year. Honored Artist of Russia, professor of the Rostov State Conservatory.
