Shemyakina biography is brief
The author’s work in the homeland was recognized only at the end of the years. In the early years, the artist and sculptor was born on May 4 in Moscow. By nationality, the painter is Kabardin, and the Russian surname Shemyakin went to him from his father's stepfather. The real parent of Michael came from the old Kabardian family of Kardanovs, and the mother grew up in a wealthy noble family.
The grandfather of the mother’s boy studied at the Kronstadt Naval School. According to the artist, his grandfathers were shot during the revolution of the year right in military uniforms. The mother of the future creator, Julia Predtechenskaya, served in the Taganka Theater. Ovidev, the woman began to meet with the colonel, from whom she gave birth to her son Michael. After the birth of the boy, Julia Nikolaevna moved to her second spouse, who at that time received the title of commandant of the cities of East Germany.
Until adolescence, Misha lived in the GDR. Mikhail Shemyakin, in his youth, at the end of x, mother and her son and husband moved to Russia and settled in a communal apartment of 38 rooms. The immigrants settled in one of the rooms, where aunt from the side of the stepfather settled with them. The mother of the mother saw the future military in his son, but the young man gravitated to art.
The mother of the young man supported the aspirations of her son and supplied him with literature with the paintings of the field of Gauguin, Van Gogh and Jerome Bosch. After some time, the colonel went to serve in the Krasnodar Territory, and young Misha got the opportunity to freely engage in creativity. In just one night, he illustrated the Pushkin fairy tale about King Saltan and was accepted on the second course of the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting.
At the university, the young man studied for only four years, after which he was expelled for the negative impact on students' minds. Shemyakin was pleased to introduce classmates to the work of Western authors, which in the USSR, to put it mildly, was not welcomed. The formation of the young man stopped at the beginning of X, after the report “well -wisher” in the KGB.
In the biography of the young man, difficult times came. In order not to starve to starve, he took on any dirty work. At night, a non-study student was engaged in his favorite business-he copied the canvases of famous European masters and put artistic experiments. The former classmate was often visited by institute friends, which were opposed by the neighbors in the communal apartment.
An anonymous denunciation again entered the organs, which made the further life of Shemyakin unbearable. During the interrogation, the investigator asked questions about religion, God and the devil, which ultimately led to the sending of the guy to the psychiatric hospital. The diagnosis in the medical record sounded like this: "Sluggish schizophrenia." Mikhail Shemyakin with Vysotsky for six months Mikhail was stuffed with potent drugs, which almost led to his disability.
The attending Doctor allowed the patient to conduct an exhibition of works in the clinic dedicated to the illustrations of books by writer Maurice Druion. The doctor showed these drawings to his trainees, trying to clearly show the course of the development of schizophrenia. For two years, the young man was allergic to paints and nightmares. To get rid of all this, the artist went to recover to the mountains of Abkhazia.
Mikhail no longer represented the work of life without art, so he decided to get a simple handbag to get a Hermitage. In the shemyakin brigade, the same talented, but unrecognized by the authorities, artists worked. In 62, the debut exhibition of the young creator was organized. The Zvezda magazine helped to hold it, thanks to which Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Lyubimov and Alfred Shnitka and many representatives of the creative intelligentsia learned about the works of the genius.
Two years later, the artist’s exhibition dared to conduct a Hermitage, which turned into troubles for both management and ordinary employees. The author’s life that began to improve again was painted with black colors: he conducted several searches, during which his best works on religious themes were seized. In addition, the author lost his favorite books and letters of his mother.
The artist was threatened by expulsion from the city and a charges of parasitism. At the end of X, the artist founded the creative association "Petersburg". In cooperation with the thinker Vladimir Ivanov, Shemyakin took up the search for new methods of icon painting, for which he decided to become a novice of the male Pskov-Pechersky monastery. The creator actively carried out exhibitions of his works, which caused irritation among representatives of the authorities.
The works of Michael were highly appreciated abroad. Thanks to the Russian emigrant and galleryist Dina, the artist’s family left the USSR, but without the opportunity to take even the necessary things with him. In France, the Russian genius was met by Dina's relatives. In Paris, Shemyakin began a new stage in creative life - even if his life was very poor, but free. The creator had the opportunity to study literature prohibited in his homeland and create canvases of any subject.
The works of Mikhail Mikhailovich became widely known after the exposition conducted by the Parisian designer Jean-Claude Gober.Since the xs, the author of the paintings began to receive a huge number of orders, and large lines were built on his finished creations.
The moment came when the cultural content of the French capital seemed boring and monotonous to the artist. Despite this, the Russian genius continued to work hard, sculpting sculptures and creating new canvases. In the West, the Apollo almanas gained great popularity, in which the founder introduced readers to Soviet impressionists and avant -garde artists.
France continued to put pressure on the artist with petty -bourgeois foundations and satiety, which in the USSR did not have to dream of. Having visited the United States, Mikhail finally felt the breath of real life full of creative events. Here the artist decided to move to America and obtain citizenship of this amazing country. In the United States, the master moved at the beginning of X, but his wife and daughter preferred to settle in warm and calm Greece.
At first, Shemyakin settled in the Soho area, which soon began to be considered a place of pilgrimage for creative personalities. A few years later, the artist was able to purchase an abandoned castle in just a couple of hours of driving from a lively metropolis. In it, he created a spacious workshop to create sculptural compositions and artistic paintings.
Soon the Russian master was accepted at the New York Academy of Sciences and the European Academy of Arts. They learned about the work of a compatriot in their homeland only at the end of X, almost before the collapse of the USSR. They may be familiar.
